Caracas.- The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, participates in the meeting called “World Social Alternative” held by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty.
The Head of State arrived accompanied by Cilia Flores, First Combatant of the Republic and Deputy of the National Assembly and the ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary, Jorge Arreaza.
He was also welcomed by social leaders Evo Morales (Bolivia), Manuel Zelaya (Honduras), Joao Pedro Stédile, representing the Brazil’s Landless Workers Movement, and Llanisca Lugo, representing the ALBA Movimientos, from Cuba.
Among the speakers were Atilio Borón (Argentina), Irene León (Ecuador), Rania Khalek (USA/Lebanon), Juan Carlos Monedero (Spain), Alina Duarte (Mexico); Messilene Gorete (Brazil).
The event was held at the conference room of the Meliá Caracas hotel, which began on Thursday and was attended by 500 national and international guests.

Caracas.- During the gathering of the “World Social Alternative”, the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, invited the entire bloc to develop new strategies that will allow the independent and sovereign peoples to successfully continue the struggle against imperialism.
“The time has come from the social movements of ALBA, with a very broad vision of organizing a new world social alternative against capitalism, against fascism, for a world of peace, love, life, hope and a multipolar world based on the peoples”.
He stressed that to achieve this there must be full popular awareness.
“Because only aware, mobilized and organized, empowered peoples will be able to build the new world.”
In order to strengthen the coordinated work between the people and the government, he emphasized that training must come from the grassroots.
“It is not a man, comrades. It is about the values taught to the people. It is to have faith in the people; it is to teach the people from the bottom up. It is to constantly activate their struggles; it is to believe in the spiritual strength, the identity, the roots; it is to sow today, to harvest tomorrow and to sow again, to be in constant renewal”.
He also added that it is essential to listen to the people, to know how to accept criticisms that lead to better proposals to improve the system.
” We must renew the rhetoric, the public policies. It is to learn to listen to the harsh criticism of the people, face to face and let the criticism come”.
We welcome criticism. It is to know how to make self-criticism in order to move forward, to sow hope, not to self-flagellate, to self-destruct, to demoralize the people, it must be to learn, to move forward”, he said.
The Venezuelan President assured that today, more than ever, the people are growing stronger and are empowered with knowledge, their achievements and their struggles.
“Our people during these 11 years, I believe so and you will see it in the coming days, our people have become better organized, it is a people of values, it is a people of principles, it is an empowered people and if anyone owns the victory in all the situations that we have had to face, if anyone owns the victory against the blockade, sanctions, conspiracies and everything that imperialism has done, it only belongs to the noble, mobilized, conscious, empowered and organized people of Venezuela to guarantee the future,” he said.
He said that ” new steps are coming for the happiness and for the guarantee of the construction of socialism in Venezuela and a new and powerful social alternative in the world”.
Within this framework, he announced that for December “it will be 30 years since the first meeting between the two giants Fidel and Chavez”, in addition, “we will also be commemorating twenty years since the founding of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America, today the Bolivarian Alliance”.

Caracas.- The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called on the peoples belonging to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) to continue the popular action to confront fascism.
From the ” Gathering for a World Social Alternative” taking place in Sabana Grande, Caracas, with participants from ALBA-TCP, social movements and intellectuals from around the world, he reiterated that demonstration is a permanent feature of the revolutionary movements.
“The revolutionary movements in power must continue with the permanent mass demonstration. It is one of the keys of the Bolivarian Revolution. An active people, a mobilized people in any circumstance, is the only way to be prepared for the battles we have to fight,” he affirmed.
In his address, the Venezuelan Head of State, emphasized that the peoples who lead the political power and those engaged in resistance, are aware and active, well-informed and mobilized in the struggle against neoliberalism and fascism, which are emerging as alternatives.
As an example, he explained that fascist and neoliberal options are reflected today in “Vox in Spain, Milei in Argentina, Bolsonaro in Brazil, Netanyahu in Israel. Fascism is the horrendous face of Hitler’s image, it is in the face of Netanyahu, a war criminal, murderer of peoples”.
In view of this world reality, the President denounced that Zionism hides in alternatives such as Bolsonaro and Milei, through financing.
In the case of Venezuela, he said that Zionism also has allies in the Venezuelan extreme right. “Here in Venezuela, they are behind the surnames of Machado and Capriles, all of them came out to applaud the genocide against the Palestinian people, all of them came out to applaud the assault and bombing with missiles of the Iranian Consulate in Damascus. All of them, Machado, Lopez, Capriles, the surnames here, are also a product of Zionism, it is not a coincidence, it is a branch of imperialism”.
The national leader to ALBA-TCP called for fighting the battle in social networks and making progress in social media to prevent crises of credibility, legitimacy, leadership and alternatives.
Finally, he warned that “Zionism is the leading force of fascism in the world and is getting into Latin America. Be alert! Caracas, April 19, 2024.- The Gathering for a World Social Alternative, organized by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) and the Simon Bolivar Institute, continued this Friday with the conference “Hyper-imperialism and a World Social Alternative”.
From the Meliá Hotel in Caracas, the seminar was conducted by Vijay Prashad, director of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research, who explained that hyper-imperialism is the cause of the ruin in Gaza.
In view of the destructive scenario promoted by the United States, the international delegate stated that ALBA and the social movements are called upon to promote a multipolar movement.
“We need millions of people out there to see our project as a concrete approach to reject decadence, and to embrace and support socialism,” Prashad stressed.
The Gathering for a World Social Alternative began this Thursday in Caracas, a debate session that brings together delegates from 60 countries until April 20 in the Venezuelan capital.

Caracas, April 19, 2024.- “It is necessary to build the method along with the people to activate the Council of Social Movements of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty”.
Jorge Arreaza, Executive Secretary of the Alliance, stated this during the opening of the conference: “The principle of unity as a transformation element”, within the context of the Gathering for a World Social Alternative, taking place from April 18 to 20 at the Meliá Hotel, in Caracas, Venezuela.
“We have to take ALBA as the soul of our peoples, we have to talk to our children about ALBA (…) our continent, that is, Our America, is the one greatly impacted by the Alliance,” said Arreaza at the meeting organized by ALBA-TCP and the Simón Bolívar Institute.
He also said that the peoples are the fuel, “but the peoples need a driving wheel to express their ideas, and for that, they need ALBA”.
Moreover, he said that the social movements, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty must “rise up and revolt” against U.S. imperialism and succeed in transforming the global geopolitical reality of power.
“ALBA is not only for governments, we have to make you in the world understand that ALBA, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America belongs to everyone, and we must be very clear about the meaning of Simón Bolívar, Bolívar is essential,” he stressed.
The 2030 Agenda: against artificial intelligence, the people’s intelligence
During the meeting, Arreaza said that the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America promotes the 2030 agenda, which includes fostering new projects to strengthen economic, health, education, food and environmental protection plans, among others.
“Unity is the only possible path and to work in unity we have to work on agreements (…) For this, the Council of Social Movements is crucial, you are the only ones who can make a counter-proposal to U.S. imperialism”, he stated.
Arreaza stated that ALBA and the social movements should also work on an agenda to support Haiti, as well as to defend Palestine.
Finally, the Executive Secretary considered that ALBA should be the soul of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) before it turns into a new FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas).
“Let us make ALBA our common flag, let us unite all of us against the main enemy (imperialism and capitalism). Capitalism dehumanizes and isolates us,” he said.

Caracas, April 18, 2024.- During the Gathering for a World Social Alternative taking place in Caracas on April 18, 19 and 20, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, raised her voice for the peoples, as well as the dangers and threats besetting the world.
In this way, the Executive Vice President expressed that “the dangers and threats to humanity are currently very serious. Given the current context of the world, we are extremely concerned about the real threats facing humanity, which is capitalism; the climate situation is the product of a predatory model such as capitalism”.
Likewise, during her speech, Rodriguez showed some illustrations explaining that global CO2 emissions increased worldwide in 2023; “in fact, it was the warmest year on the planet”.
Rodriguez also explained that inequality is a huge problem in our continent, “that is why the answer must come from our region: Latin America and the Caribbean.
Regarding Palestine, she added that “there are more than 30 thousand dead, most of them children and women; it is a genocide, where artificial intelligence has also been employed for the extermination of a people. Social networks are being used to annihilate peoples and to spread despair in humanity”.
Delcy Rodríguez highlighted that 31% of the countries in the world are today subject to unilateral coercive measures, with the aim of extorting. “They intend to rule Venezuela through licenses, that blackmail that outrages but also makes us laugh a lot (…) no rude and barbaric empires stop Venezuela”.

Caracas, April 18, 2024.- The member of the International People’s Assembly of Mexico, Stephanie Weatherbee Brito, expressed her gratitude this Thursday to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) and the Simon Bolivar Institute (ISB) for the Gathering for a World Social Alternative, a meeting she described as essential for the voices of social movements to be able to freely express themselves and speak the truth.
During the seminar: “One imperialism, one enemy”, held in the context of the meeting being held at the Meliá Hotel in Caracas until April 20, Weatherbee Brito stressed that the popular organization is the only way to get the world out of the current crisis.
“The existing ideological confusion is what feeds imperialism. The neoliberal ideology has blurred our eyes,” said the Mexican leader.

Caracas, April 18, 2024.- “The Decadent Civilization” was presented at the Gathering for a World Social Alternative, organized by the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA TCP) and the Simon Bolivar Institute (ISB), which brought together social movements, leaders and activists for unity and the construction of a common agenda against imperialism”.
In its first part, Juan Carlos Monedero, political expert and delegate from Spain, stated that “we live in a nihilistic world where commitment does not go beyond oneself (…) and we are fighting against giants. Do not forget that you can never cover the sun with one finger”.
Likewise, Monedero stressed: “let us not forget that the blockade has been perpetrated against the peoples with the support of the United States (…) we are fighting against a brutal media attack and we are tired and exhausted of all this onslaught. The world has turned “ugly”, but do not forget that the people who have a project are always the ones who survive”.
Meanwhile, Colombian anthropologist Carlos Rosero said that “there is no capitalism without racism and racism always leads to genocide, hate crime; America should be a racism-free zone; that should be the premise”.
The Colombian added that “enslavement and trafficking are at the base of the primitive accumulation of capital; we are defending America to be a zone of peace, but we must also demand for it to be a zone free of racism”.
In the same vein, Alina Duarte, from the Mexican delegation, highlighted that in order to talk about the decadent civilization we start from several points of view, we are clear that production means are changing; it is necessary to continue analyzing these monsters of capitalism”.
“Today bots are paid in social networks to attack us from all sides in all countries, but we must make a deeply militant and anti-fascist communication, we must become the communicational guerrillas, turn ourselves into the communicational armed wing; and keep training ourselves and training others,” Duarte concluded.
Likewise, closing the series of presentations, Guatemala’s delegate, Carlos Barrientos said that “Commander Fidel Castro warned us in 1992 about climate change, and said that it was too late to take action; nowadays, reports show the seriousness of the situation, but they also hide realities from us”.

Caracas, April 18, 2024.- We must continue with the dream of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP),” said Irene León, sociologist and political analyst from Ecuador, during the seminar “Dangers and Threats to Humanity,” held at the Gathering for a World Social Alternative.
In her speech at the Meliá Hotel in Caracas, León said that the Alliance is an indispensable mechanism for strengthening multilateralism, especially in these times “when corporate power seeks to control all economies”.
She warned that the regional alliances of Latin America and the Caribbean should be the wall restraining the new economic geopolitics that seeks to generate an even more aggressive capitalist system: “to sell chaos”.
On the other hand, at the gathering organized by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) and the Simon Bolivar Institute, the Puerto Rican sociologist Ramon Grosfoguel said that the United States has escalated its attack against Latin America in order to completely recover the region’s markets in view of China’s development.
Grosfoguel said that difficult years lie ahead, “because the United States is a wounded tiger, and a wounded beast is capable of doing anything crazy (…) We cannot ignore a scenario like this and we must know how we are going to smartly resist”.
