President Nicolás Maduro urges ALBA-TCP to continue permanent action against fascism in the world

Caracas.- The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called on the peoples belonging to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) to continue the popular action to confront fascism.

From the ” Gathering for a World Social Alternative” taking place in Sabana Grande, Caracas, with participants from ALBA-TCP, social movements and intellectuals from around the world, he reiterated that demonstration is a permanent feature of the revolutionary movements.

“The revolutionary movements in power must continue with the permanent mass demonstration. It is one of the keys of the Bolivarian Revolution. An active people, a mobilized people in any circumstance, is the only way to be prepared for the battles we have to fight,” he affirmed.

In his address, the Venezuelan Head of State, emphasized that the peoples who lead the political power and those engaged in resistance, are aware and active, well-informed and mobilized in the struggle against neoliberalism and fascism, which are emerging as alternatives.

As an example, he explained that fascist and neoliberal options are reflected today in “Vox in Spain, Milei in Argentina, Bolsonaro in Brazil, Netanyahu in Israel. Fascism is the horrendous face of Hitler’s image, it is in the face of Netanyahu, a war criminal, murderer of peoples”.

In view of this world reality, the President denounced that Zionism hides in alternatives such as Bolsonaro and Milei, through financing.

In the case of Venezuela, he said that Zionism also has allies in the Venezuelan extreme right. “Here in Venezuela, they are behind the surnames of Machado and Capriles, all of them came out to applaud the genocide against the Palestinian people, all of them came out to applaud the assault and bombing with missiles of the Iranian Consulate in Damascus. All of them, Machado, Lopez, Capriles, the surnames here, are also a product of Zionism, it is not a coincidence, it is a branch of imperialism”.

The national leader to ALBA-TCP called for fighting the battle in social networks and making progress in social media to prevent crises of credibility, legitimacy, leadership and alternatives.

Finally, he warned that “Zionism is the leading force of fascism in the world and is getting into Latin America. Be alert! What I can tell you is this: in Venezuela they will not succeed, this people will prevail against fascism and the Zionism of the surnames, the oligarchy or whatever they call it”.

ALBA-TCP and social movements must fight hyper-imperialism and reject U.S. decadence

Caracas, April 19, 2024.- The Gathering for a World Social Alternative, organized by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) and the Simon Bolivar Institute, continued this Friday with the conference “Hyper-imperialism and a World Social Alternative”.

From the Meliá Hotel in Caracas, the seminar was conducted by Vijay Prashad, director of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research, who explained that hyper-imperialism is the cause of the ruin in Gaza.

In view of the destructive scenario promoted by the United States, the international delegate stated that ALBA and the social movements are called upon to promote a multipolar movement.

“We need millions of people out there to see our project as a concrete approach to reject decadence, and to embrace and support socialism,” Prashad stressed.

The Gathering for a World Social Alternative began this Thursday in Caracas, a debate session that brings together delegates from 60 countries until April 20 in the Venezuelan capital.

This international meeting is an opportunity to promote unity and the design of an agenda to protect the Latin American and Caribbean regions against the imperial attacks of this new time.

Atilio Borón: It is essential to be present in the media to fight imperialism

Caracas, April 18, 2024.- “We are living a very hard period, a period with a wounded imperialism but it is not over yet (…) There is a ruthless persecution triggered against any country and spokespersons speaking against the U.S. empire”.

Such was the words of Argentine sociologist and political expert Atilio Borón, during the Seminar on Dangers and Threats to Humanity, during the Gathering for a World Social Alternative, which will be held until April 20 at the Meliá Hotel in Caracas, organized by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) and the Simón Bolívar Institute.

During his speech he stressed that today the war is being waged in the media “and if we do not understand this, we will continue to be victims of the empire. The media blatantly lie. Our activism in the networks is fundamental to fight imperialism,” he said.

In his opinion, this attack by the United States against any country opposing its interests can be stopped through regional integration and the promotion of alternatives that strengthen the multipolar international system.

In this sense, he stressed that the Alliance is an essential regional union mechanism to counter the new attacks emerging within capitalism and its allied countries.

Additionally, William Castillo, director of the Venezuelan Anti-Blockade Observatory and one of the speakers at this seminar, stated that Venezuela cannot accept foreign interference, and claimed that the sanctions against Venezuela, reaffirmed again by the U.S. Government against the country, will not have the impact they had in 2016 and 2017, since the country is now strengthened.

He said that despite the fact that Venezuela is complying with the dialogue process and the Barbados agreements, the United States continues to intensify its policy of sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic.

ALBA-TCP rejects U.S. government-induced destabilization against Cuba

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) expressed their rejection of the new destabilization attempts against the Republic of Cuba, perpetrated through smear campaigns by the U.S. Government in recent days.

In the communiqué, the members of the Alliance strongly condemned the attempts aimed at undermining Cuba’s internal order, stressing that such actions seek to take advantage of the difficult economic situation faced by the Caribbean nation, worsened by the U.S. blockade.

“The government of the United States continues its attempts to provoke a social outbreak, tightening the economic siege, sabotaging the State’s capacity to respond to the requirements of the people”, according to the document.

The Alliance reiterated its rejection of the dissemination of these messages through “toxic platforms”, highlighting that this contravenes international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

It is important to emphasize that the hardships suffered by the Cuban people, such as the current power supply situation and the difficulties in food distribution, are direct consequences of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government during more than 60 years on the brotherly country.

“Cuba is an example of resilience, work and resistance for all Latin America and the Caribbean and its authorities have had, have and will have all the willingness to face and improve the conditions that this worthy nation has been subjected to for years, as a result of the hatred and contempt of the enemies of the Cuban Revolution”, the text states.

This weekend, President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel called for calm and also denounced that unrest is being promoted from South Florida, United States.

Finally, the ALBA-TCP member countries reaffirmed their firm solidarity with the Cuban government and people, supporting their legitimate denunciation against enemy campaigns and recognizing their tireless efforts to overcome all difficulties.
