ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary and President of Bolivia discuss the 2030 Agenda of the Alliance

Santa Cruz, March 11, 2024.- The Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) Jorge Arreaza, met on Monday with the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, to discuss the 2030 Agenda of the regional bloc.

At the meeting, held after the International Seminar “New Regional Financial Architecture. Challenges for a better integration in a changing world”, in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, both authorities agreed on the importance of strengthening unity and integration to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Later, the Executive Secretary held a fraternal meeting with the Bolivian Foreign Minister, Celinda Sosa, to discuss the 2030 Agenda of the bloc and how to strengthen the Alliance. 

Arreaza stated during the Seminar that the ALBA-TCP 2030 Agenda and the new economic perspective seek to build a dynamic, complementary and fair trademechanism among member countries.

ALBA-TCP, according to the 2030 Agenda, focuses on four main lines of work, four areas: economic, social, political and cultural, in order to strengthen and give new drive to the Alliance.

This ALBA-TCP 2030 Agenda involves a wide range of topics, including: the comprehensive development of communications and transportation, the promotion of Latin American capital investment, energy integration, and respect for the environment, among others.

It also envisages the reactivation of Petrocaribe, the development of the Bank of ALBA, the strengthening and expansion of air and maritime connections, and the promotion of tourism alliances in the region.
