Caracas, April 24, 2024.- The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, affirmed on Wednesday that the blockade and the unilateral measures against Venezuela and Cuba have failed, and the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) will continue to support both nations with the highest principles of solidarity.
Regarding the 23rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of ALBA-TCP at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, Skerrit said that in 20 years of the Alliance the challenge is to continue strengthening the bonds of brotherhood to fight against the U.S. imperialism.
“Dominica is pleased to be part of ALBA. The important thing about ALBA is that it is an organization which speaks to humanity, to the core, to many challenges. There is no organization that in such a short time has done what ALBA has achieved in 20 years. It is a solidarity group that takes firm actions in defense of our brothers and sisters”, he stated.
He also expressed that “the efforts of neo-capitalism are not going to destroy our brotherhood; in fact, the situation of the world leads us to be more united”
Prime Minister Skerrit said the regional bloc must continue to progress and discuss important issues to the region. “We can strengthen our solidarity with Bolivia and with the struggle of Nicaragua, you are not alone”.
