THE BOLIVARIAN ALLIANCE FOR THE PEOPLES OF OUR AMERICA (ALBA) COMMUNIQUÉ

ALBA-TCP

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) expresses its strongest support and solidarity with the people and Government of the sister Republic of Cuba, its President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, in the just defense of their sovereignty and independence, based on the legitimate exercise of the right to self-determination and to establish friendly relations and cooperation with all governments and peoples of the world, within a framework of mutual respect, sovereign equality, and adherence to International Law.

ALBA reaffirms that the Charter of the United Nations constitutes the essential foundation for peaceful coexistence among States, enshrining universal principles such as the sovereign equality of States, non-interference in internal affairs, the prohibition of the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of any State, the peaceful settlement of disputes, and the inalienable right of every people to determine its own political, economic, and social development.

The Alliance recognizes and values the historical trajectory of Cuban foreign policy, built upon a doctrine of independence, national dignity, and a profound commitment to multilateralism. Throughout its history, Cuba has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to international cooperation, solidarity among peoples, and respect for the norms of international law, contributing consistently to understanding, peace, and collective well-being, especially for the benefit of countries in the Global South.

ALBA urges the international community and multilateral organizations to maintain their firm and unwavering support for the Republic of Cuba, in accordance with the resolutions repeatedly and overwhelmingly adopted by the United Nations General Assembly demanding the lifting of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed against that country, and to contribute responsibly to peace, stability, and cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
