The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) congratulate the new authorities of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on their appointment at a special session of the National Assembly (AN) held on May 4th, 2021.

The election of the five principal directors and ten deputy directors of the Venezuelan Electoral Branch reinforces the strong democratic nature of the political processes and the social, economic and cultural transformation of the ALBA countries.

The process carried out in compliance with the law and with the participation of all sectors of the country proves the political maturity of the Venezuelan people in the exercise of democracy despite the attacks and difficulties faced by Venezuela as a result of the illegal imposition of unilateral coercive measures that seek to defeat the sovereign will of its people and its institutions.

The ALBA-TCP countries extend their best wishes to the new authorities of the National Electoral Council and reaffirm their solidarity and support to the Venezuelan government and people committed to peace and the development of national unity policies through dialogue.
