For the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) it is imperative the cessation of U.S. political, military, financial and logistical support to Israel, the Occupying Power, and the urgent appeal to the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council to fulfill their primary responsibility for the preservation of international peace and security.

In this regard, ALBA countries support the proposal of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, to convene an International Summit for Peace and against War, a forum that will serve as a platform to promote a comprehensive cessation of hostilities, and promote inclusive dialogue among all parties involved, as well as respect for the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and International Law, including the principles of sovereignty, self-determination and the non-threat or use of force.

We consider it a priority to make progress towards the establishment of a nuclear weapons Free Zone and other Weapons of Mass Extermination in the Middle East, in compliance with the historic resolutions of the United Nations, as well as to immediately stop the genocide against the Palestinian people, and to move forward in the consolidation of their sovereignty as demanded by the international community based on the resolutions of the United Nations.

ALBA reiterates its unwavering commitment to peace, justice and multilateralism. We are confident that this initiative will contribute to a safer world and the long-awaited peace based on respect and the justice among nations.
