ALBA-TCP rejects new sanctions imposed by the U.S. government on nicaraguan nationals and companies

ALBA-TCP

The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) categorically reject the new array of unilateral and illegal sanctions that the U.S. government has imposed on Nicaraguan nationals and companies.

Within less than two months, Washington has once again attacked this sister nation, a member of our Bolivarian Alliance, through a series of unilateral coercive measures against companies, such as Compañía Minera Internacional and Capital Mining Investment Nicaragua, and over 250 public officials, including police officers, prosecutors, judges, among others.

These joint measures of the U.S. Departments of State and Treasury seek to disturb the economic and political stability of this country, hindering its right to development.

Furthermore, as an infamous complement, the U.S. government is attacking and issuing sanctions against institutions of other States operating economic activities in Nicaraguan territory, disrespecting Nicaragua’s sovereign right to choose its commercial allies and international investors.

The Bolivarian Alliance demands respect for the sovereignty of the free peoples of Our America and the Caribbean, and reaffirms its total support and solidarity with the people and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua.
