ALBA-TCP rejects meeting called by the government of Panamá

ALBA-TCP

The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) categorically reject the call by the government of the Republic of Panama, to an interfering meeting to discuss Venezuela’s internal affairs, in blatant violation of the sovereignty and self-determination of that sister nation.

This interventionist call is intended to repeat the unsuccessful actions of the so-called Lima Group, with identical intentions of destabilization and coup purposes, publicly stating that the purpose of such meeting would be “to rehearse more actions to support democracy in the South American brother country”. ALBA-TCP stresses the importance of addressing any regional issue, as long as it is in full respect of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, including the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of States.

ALBA-TCP repudiates all those actions contrary to the norms that govern the international order and which are established for the well-being and peaceful coexistence of nations and their peoples and invites the countries of the entire world, especially those of the Latin American and Caribbean region, to respect the decisions and mechanisms of each State.

The Constitution, laws and institutions of Venezuela guarantee the Venezuelan people the full exercise of their sovereignty and independence. No country has the right to “rehearse actions” outside the framework of respect for the self-determination of peoples.

The Bolivarian Alliance calls on the international community to reject this type of interference, reaffirms its support for the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has been able to lead the nation along the path of peace in these moments of onslaught and ratifies its respect for the will of the Venezuelan people, unquestionably expressed in the presidential elections held on July 28, 2024.
