ALBA-TCP expresses its solidarity with Honduras un view of the denounced coup attempt

ALBA-TCP

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) stand in solidarity with the people and government of the Republic of Honduras, in view of the interference of the government of the United States in its internal affairs and denounce the coup attempt made by President Xiomara Castro on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

ALBA-TCP, once again, expresses its categorical rejection of these acts that flagrantly violate the rules of International Law. Honduras is a sister nation with excellent and comprehensive relations with the countries of the Alliance, that should be respected by any other State.

ALBA-TCP expresses its full support to the brave Honduran people, who know very well the consequences of coups d’état, as well as to the government of President Xiomara Castro and the actions it deems appropriate for the defense of its sovereignty and calls on the international community to condemn these blatant interventionist attempts by any country that aim at chaos in sister nations and the destabilization of the entire region.
