ALBA-TCP expresses solidarity with Central América after the passage of tropical storm Sara

ALBA-TCP

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their solidarity with the peoples and governments of Central America in the wake of tropical storm Sara, especially Honduras, where it is causing serious damage and threatening Mexico and Belize.

ALBA-TCP applauds the stance of the President of the Republic of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, who has courageously taken on this task personally, offering effective steps to support the communities after floods in Tegucigalpa, Tocoa, Colón, among other cities.

Likewise, the Alliance supports all the efforts of the Honduran government to recover from this emergency and hopes for the prompt rescue of the people missing due to the heavy rains and the devastation caused by the climate crisis the planet is experiencing.

The ALBA-TCP Member States regret the material losses caused by “Sara”, hope that there will be no loss of life and applaud the preventive measures taken in Mexico and Belize to avoid greater tragedies.
