ALBA-TCP DENOUNCES SEIZURE OF VENEZUELAN AIRCRAFT IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

ALBA-TCP

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) denounce the seizure of the Venezuelan Dassault Falcon 900EX aircraft by the United States Department of Justice, which was used by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and which was illegally taken to Miami, Florida, this Monday, September 2, 2024.

This seizure adds to the long list of aggressions by U.S. administrations against the Venezuelan people and government, with the aim of putting pressure to distort the democratic will of the Venezuelan people and create the conditions to force a change of government.

The ALBA-TCP member countries strongly condemn any imposition that seeks to deprive the sister countries of Latin America and the Caribbean of their assets and once again repudiate this act of piracy to the detriment of the Venezuelan State, completely contravening International Law, as has already occurred in the past with the aircraft owned by Empresa de Transporte Aerocargo del Sur (EMTRASUR), a subsidiary of the Venezuelan airline Conviasa.

ALBA-TCP regrets that the United States seized the presidential aircraft in the sister Dominican Republic, violating the sovereignty of that country and the principle of non-interference.

The Bolivarian Alliance once again joins the demand of the people and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to respect the decision of the majority of Venezuelans expressed in the presidential elections of July 28 and supports the legal, diplomatic and political actions it takes to defend its sovereignty and self-determination.
