The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) congratulates the people of the United Mexican States for the historic election day of the “Federal Electoral Process 2023-2024”, which defined the Presidency of the nation, as well as a new Congress, eight governorships, the Capital Mayor’s office and a number of local positions, which took place on June 2, 2024. 

The ALBA-TCP highlights the profound democratic spirit of the Mexican people, demonstrated in the largest electoral process in the history of that country, which has widely and overwhelmingly reaffirmed its own path in the exercise of its sovereignty and national liberation project, defeating an unprecedented campaign of lies, media bias and the use of social networks for political purposes.

Likewise, the Bolivarian Alliance applauds the irrefutable democratic victory of the candidate of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) of the Workers’ Party (PT) and the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, a worthy example of the Latin American and Caribbean woman, who with her wide experience, honesty and praiseworthy background, meets all the conditions to consolidate the process of the Fourth Transformation undertaken six years ago by the President and popular leader, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In this sense, the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance extend a warm and heartfelt appreciation to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a brave patriot of Our America, who was able to demonstrate his national, regional and global leadership to wisely lead the Mexican nation along the path of a new Latin American order of union, humanism and brotherhood.

The ALBA-TCP wishes success to the first woman elected president of Mexico and to the rest of the elected authorities for this new beginning of the Mexican nation.
