The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) celebrate with great joy and delight the victories achieved by Caribbean athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

For the Alliance, the triumph of Thea LaFond of Dominica, who won the first gold medal for this sister nation in the triple jump competition; Julien Alfred of St. Lucia, who swept the track in the 100-meter dash, also giving Saint Lucians this moment of pride; and Lindon Victor of Grenada, who won the bronze medal in Decathlon, is a wonderful reason to celebrate.

ALBA-TCP congratulates all the athletes of this great Bolivarian Alliance for these sporting achievements which make the peoples proud and are an example of the great talent sprouting in the Latin American and Caribbean region. There is no doubt that sport is the universal language for the promotion of peace, tolerance and understanding beyond borders, cultures and religions.
