The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) expresses its support for the call made by the President of the Republic of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, for an urgent first dialogue between civilizations to be held within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.

Within an international context characterized by armed conflicts, threats to the sovereignty of peoples, and the deepening of inequalities, this call represents a historic and visionary need to halt barbarism and build a path toward global peace.

ALBA-TCP – with its firm commitment to humanism and solidarity – joins this effort, inviting the countries and peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, Europe, and all progressive forces around the world to join in this dialogue that seeks to preserve life, peace, justice, and mutual respect among nations.
