ALBA-TCP strongly repudiates accusations by the u.s government against Petrocaribe

ALBA-TCP

The wave of constant threats and aggressions against the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean has become an obsession for the U.S. Administration. On this occasion, they intend to attack the Petrocaribe agreement, one of the most supportive and useful tools of South-South cooperation, particularly for the Caribbean countries.

No one in the region dares to doubt the comprehensive social impact that Petrocaribe has brought about by guaranteeing the supply of fuel to over 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, thereby becoming a humanitarian retaining wall in the face of the ups and downs and crises in the markets of the Global North.

The attempt to discredit Petrocaribe is perhaps the most shameless and erratic slander that the U.S. Department of State can issue, in the face of the undeniable reality of millions of human beings who have benefited from the benefits and generosity of this unprecedented energy solidarity initiative.

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) categorically repudiate this new pretext to try to promote, based on a series of lies, a process of division and destabilization in a region proclaimed as a Zone of Peace, that develops relations of mutual respect, union and sincere cooperation.

ALBA demands the immediate and unconditional lifting of all Unilateral Coercive Measures against Petrocaribe, an initiative that has been the one of the main driving forces for the unity of the entire region.
