The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), strongly Vand emphatically rejects the statements made by the President of the United States, in which he publicly admits to having authorized operations to attack the peace and stability of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
These statements refer to covert actions within Venezuelan territory and in Caribbean waters, with potentially lethal operations and land-based scope. These actions, by all standards, represent a direct violation of the principle of sovereignty, as well as a threat to International Law and the Charter of the United Nations. These violations by the United States have been recurrent throughout history.
With a steadfast spirit and Our American consciousness, the Bolivarian Alliance denounces this new act of imperial arrogance that seeks to undermine the sovereignty of a free and dignified people, and fully supports the position assumed by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the extraordinary meeting of CELAC foreign ministers, at which these events were denounced and the case will be presented to the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations as an urgent measure to stop any attempt at aggression or destabilization in the Caribbean.
No threat will be able to break countries’ determination to defend the independence, peace, and self-determination achieved through effort and sacrifice. Today more than ever, ALBA-TCP raises its voice alongside Venezuela and the peoples of the Caribbean to proclaim that there will be no room for war or interventionism in Our America: this remains, and always will be, a land of peace, dignity, and resistance.
