ALBA-TCP rejects U.S. actions to strip Venezuela of its CITGO company

ALBA-TCP

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) reject the recent immoral and illegal actions of the U.S. administration aimed at stripping Venezuela of the ownership of the Venezuelan company CITGO Petroleum Corporation.

The Alliance reiterates that, as a result of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the government of the United States, which violate the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, the people and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela are being attacked and the sovereignty of this country is being undermined.

ALBA-TCP reiterates its call to the International Community to demand the immediate lifting of the unilateral coercive measures and supports the measures taken by the Venezuelan Government within the legal framework to prevent the dispossession of its assets.
