ALBA-TCP rejects serious acts of violence perpetrated in the United States

ALBA-TCP COMMUNIQUÉ ON ATTEMPTS AT DESTABILIZATION IN THE U.S.

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), manifest their profound rejection of the serious acts of violence perpetrated in the United States of America against the institutionality of this country, through the irruption in Congress of extremist groups oriented to prevent the certification of the electoral results of last November and to annul the will of the majority of the American people.

The ALBA-TCP strongly condemns the use of violence in this case for political purposes. This unfortunate event resulting in fatal victims, reflects the social, political, economic and cultural crisis within a society marked by the resurgence of racist and supremacist groups.

The member countries of the Alliance express their solidarity with the people of the United States of America and agree that respect for the law and electoral results is a basic principle of democracy.
