The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) firmly supports President Claudia Sheinbaum and the Mexican people in the face of U.S. slander and interference and categorically rejects the groundless allegations that attempt to criminalize Mexico, while ignoring the historical responsibility of the U.S. government in the crisis of violence and drug trafficking affecting our region.
The United States is the main supplier of powerful weapons to criminal groups, which, in combination with its negligent health policies and the irresponsibility of pharmaceutical corporations, continues to result in the loss of thousands of lives every year, as documented by international organizations.
President Sheinbaum has proven with facts her commitment to security and justice, fighting organized crime head-on. ALBA-TCP supports these efforts and demands the immediate cessation of the economic war, including extortive measures and the excessive imposition of tariffs, which only deepen inequalities and affect peoples.
As the Benemerito of the Americas, Benito Juárez, said: “Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace. True cooperation must be based on shared responsibility, genuine dialogue and respect for sovereignty. Unilateral impositions and actions violating the principles of International Law are unacceptable.
