ALBA-TCP denounces disqualification of Evo Morales Ayma’s candidacy to the Senate of Bolivia

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), denounce the measure of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) of Bolivia of to disqualify President Evo Morales Ayma as a candidate for the Senate of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in the general elections of May 3, 2020, as well as other MAS Party candidates. This measure is further evidence of the continued coup d’état against the Bolivian people, on the basis of political reasons and by no means in technical or legal reasons. The ultimate aim is to prevent the wide support of Comrade Evo Morales from being showed through the vote.

The ALBA-TCP countries call on the International Community to denounce this arbitrary and unjustified measure that threatens the freedom of the electoral process of the Bolivian people in their right to choose those they consider to be their candidates to represent them.

The ALBA-TCP countries are in solidarity with the struggle of the Bolivian people and with brother Evo Morales Ayma, who is waging a historic battle for his dignity and that of his people. Sooner rather than later, the strength and determination of all Bolivians will return democracy and freedom to the nation of Tupac Katari.
