The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) strongly condemns the escalation of violence that has taken place in recent hours in the West Asian region.

The resumption of Israel’s disproportionate military attack in the Gaza Strip, violating and annulling the ceasefire agreement reached, with a toll of over 400 dead and 562 wounded, represents a serious setback on the path to peace and the defense of the lives of the Palestinian people. At the same time, the rampant attacks on Yemen and the consequent threats to Iran by the U.S. government put peace and security in the entire region and globally at risk.

The hegemonic forces currently in power intend to plunge the world into a spiral of violence, terror and segregation, in total violation of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the International Law, which all countries must respect.

The Bolivarian Alliance strongly condemns the use and the threat of the use of force to settle differences between nations and joins the cry of the majority of the international community that is committed to peace, the peaceful settlement of disputes, the respect for International Law, the solidarity and harmony among peoples.
