The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) commemorate 66 years since the victory of the Cuban Revolution, on that glorious January 1, 1959, when Fidel Castro Ruz and his rebel army entered Santiago de Cuba, thus closing a dark period of neocolonial oppression and opening, in turn, the path to the liberation of the Cuban people.
For the peoples of ALBA-TCP and the entire Global South, the Cuban Revolution has been a shining example of courage, dignity and heroic resistance. In these 66 years, barely 90 miles from the United States, the unbendable people of José Martí has bravely confronted imperialist intentions and has always been victorious.
The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance send their sincere expressions of recognition and admiration to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and congratulate the Cuban people and government, led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the Communist Party of Cuba, while reaffirming their unconditional support and solidarity in all challenges that may arise today, tomorrow and always.
“ If what the imperialists want for peace
is to make us stop being revolutionaries,
we will not stop being revolutionaries,
we will never give up our flag”.
-Fidel Castro
I can predict that the Cuban Revolution is invincible,
because it has a people
and because it has a ruler like the one who leads Cuba.
-Ernesto Guevara
