ALBA-TCP celebrates recognition of the State of Palestine

ALBA-TCP

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) welcomes the recognition of the State of Palestine by a growing number of countries. This constitutes a significant step toward the two-state solution, and the reaffirmation of the Palestinian people’s right to an independent and sovereign state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital city. This represents an act of historical justice that cannot be delayed any longer.

The ALBA-TCP countries welcome that an increasing number of nations are responsibly assuming their duty to recognize the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, in strict accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, international law, and international humanitarian law. Recognizing Palestine is a moral and legal duty to ensure regional and international peace and security.

ALBA-TCP categorically condemns the genocide perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people, as well as the illegal and systematic occupation that for over seven decades has attempted to take away their land, their freedom, and their future.

The Alliance reaffirms that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians and calls on those States that have not yet done so to recognize, without further delay, their right to exist as a free and sovereign nation and take its seat as a full member of the United Nations. The Palestinian cause is also the cause of the dignity of peoples.

Stop the genocide! Palestine will prevail!
