The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) welcome the great victory of the Ecuadorian people, expressed today in the referendum, where they emphatically reaffirmed their commitment to national sovereignty, self-determination, and the inalienable right to decide their own destiny.

The results demonstrate the determination of a nation forged in the spirit of Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, the courage of Manuela Sáenz, the steadfastness of Eloy Alfaro, and the liberating spirit of Simón Bolívar, reaffirming itself as a people who have inherited the dignity and strength of our independence heroes.

This victory is a patriotic rebirth that evokes the great moments of the Our American project, demonstrating the continued relevance and historical strength of the purpose of union and independence of the Great Homeland. The Alliance applauds this expression of national will, which remains steadfast in the face of those who seek to undermine its sovereignty and dictate its destiny.
