The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) extend their most sincere congratulations to Telesur on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, celebrated this July 24, a date of profound significance for Our America due to the commemoration of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

Born from the strategic vision of Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, Telesur has become a fundamental tool for communicational sovereignty, offering its own alternative perspective vis-à-vis the large international media corporations.

Throughout these two decades, Telesur has remained steadfast in its commitment to truthful, plural and timely information, becoming an ethical reference for journalism committed to the just causes of the peoples of the South.

ALBA reaffirms its support for Telesur as a living expression of Bolivarian thought and as an essential player in the construction of an emancipating perspective, aimed at strengthening regional integration and the right of our peoples to be informed with dignity.

The Bolivarian Alliance expresses its deepest gratitude to the human team that makes it possible, journalists, producers, technicians and workers in general, who, in the face of censorship, blockades and disinformation campaigns, bravely persist in the mission of communicating the truth of the Global South.
