ALBA COMMEMORATES THE 67TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CUBAN REVOLUTION

ALBA-TCP

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) joins with deep revolutionary emotion and historical conviction in the commemoration of January 1, 1959, a sacred date for the memory of the peoples, when the Cuban Revolution opened an irreversible horizon of dignity, sovereignty and social justice for Cuba and for all of Our America.

That triumph was the work of the Centennial Generation, a conscious youth who, inspired by the ideals of José Martí, embraced the struggle as a historical duty against colonial domination and imperial oppression. From the Sierra Maestra, under the immortal leadership of Commander- in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, that generation ignited the sacred fire of emancipation that transcended Cuba’s borders and became an ethical and political touchstone for popular struggles across the continent.

Sixty-seven years later, the Cuban Revolution remains a relevant example of consistency, resilience, and loyalty to the principles of social justice, even in the face of the criminal blockade, unilateral coercive measures, and disinformation campaigns. On the road to the centennial of Commander Fidel’s birth, his historical and moral legacy continues to guide the peoples who struggle for a just, multipolar international order that respects self-determination.

The peoples of ALBA recognize in the Cuban Revolution a common root of their struggles, where Bolívar, Martí, Sandino and Chávez converge, and reaffirm their unwavering commitment of solidarity with the brotherly people and government of Cuba.
