ALBA CELEBRATES RELEASE OF 252 VENEZUELAN CITIZENS IN EL SALVADOR

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) celebrate together with the Venezuelan people the release of 252 Venezuelan citizens who were illegally detained in CECOT, in the Republic of El Salvador, on Friday, July 18, 2025.

The Alliance reaffirms that this is an act of justice and recognizes the firm commitment of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which made every diplomatic and legal effort to guarantee the return of its nationals, in defense of their rights and the dignity of the Venezuelan people.

The Alliance congratulates President Nicolás Maduro Moros for this significant achievement, which brings peace of mind to hundreds of Venezuelan families and is an example of strong leadership, human sensitivity and sovereign action in the face of injustice.

We support with full determination all efforts of the Bolivarian Government to demand dignified and fair treatment for Venezuelan migrants, who are victims of arbitrary measures, illegal practices and processes lacking the minimum legal guarantees, and we condemn all forms of criminalization and persecution against our migrants.
