Caracas, March 29, 2025 – “Our America is currently witnessing the resurgence of fascism; the peoples and governments of Our America remain united to confront these phenomena,” declared Peter Lansiquot, Ambassador and National Coordinator of Saint Lucia to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), this Saturday.
During the 25th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance, held in Caracas, Lansiquot emphasized the need to ensure the economic viability of our member states if we are to withstand the onslaught of imperialism.
He denounced that neocolonialism reveals its worst face in the ‘massacre of dozens of innocent Palestinian children’. In his view, this represents a major political contradiction of imperialism, he added, while also stressing: “We, the countries of ALBA-TCP, will continue to raise our voices against the ridiculous and criminal actions taken against our peoples in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua.”
The diplomat highlighted: “We will not be swayed when it comes to solidarity with Cuba. Solidarity with Cuba is non-negotiable and is not for sale.”
In his opinion, unilateral sanctions are failed measures. Furthermore, he condemned the misrepresentation of ALBA-TCP member countries in allegations of human trafficking, and urged continued efforts to defend the unity of the regional bloc.
