Saint Kitts and Nevis commits at the ALBA-TCP Political Council to debating the economic and financial situation in the Western Hemisphere

Caracas, March 29, 2025 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry and Commerce, Consumer Affairs, Economic Development, and Investment of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas, reaffirmed this Saturday his commitment to maintaining the discussion on the economic and financial situation in the Western Hemisphere.

During the 25th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America–Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), held this Saturday in Venezuela as part of the agreements reached at the 12th Extraordinary Summit of the regional bloc in February of this year, Douglas emphasized that this gathering provides an opportunity to reaffirm commitments to economic and trade principles aimed at advancing the prosperity of the peoples.

“We have seen how discussions on regional transportation factors have highlighted a challenge that has weakened the region’s economic capacity,” he stated.

He further added, “We reaffirm our commitment to building capacity in the transportation sector, strengthening tourism, and enhancing trade exchanges within the framework of the work agenda.”

He also stressed the importance of continuing the development of Artificial Intelligence to ensure its positive impact on progress.
