Havana, January 30, 2025.- New meetings were held this Thursday in Havana, Cuba, between the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza, and ministers from various sectors of the island.
Arreaza met with the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Maury Hechavarría, with whom he discussed Agroalba and food sovereignty for the peoples of Our America.
He also held talks with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the largest island in the Antilles, Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga.
Both officials discussed global geopolitics, the economy, and the challenges of ensuring fair trade exchanges.
Another key topic in these meetings was cooperation in relation to the ALBA-TCP 2030 Agenda.
“A fruitful and cordial meeting with the Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza. We identified concrete projects that we can implement for the benefit of our peoples,” Pérez-Oliva stated on the social network X.
Another meeting took place with the Minister of Tourism of the island, Juan Carlos García, where they discussed mechanisms to strengthen the sector in the region.
Alongside these meetings, Cuba continues to host the 6th International Conference for World Balance, convened by the Presidency of the island, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the José Martí Project of World Solidarity.
