Caracas, January 9, 2025 – The Vice President of the Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, inaugurated the International Anti-Fascist World Festival this Thursday at La Carlota Convention Center in Caracas.
With the presence of over 2,000 international delegates, Rodríguez emphasized that the time to unite against fascism is now. “The moment is now,” she stated.
“We will dig the grave of fascism here in Venezuela. There is no other path in the face of fascism; one cannot be lukewarm. What we will celebrate here is the strategic defeat of fascism,” Rodríguez declared, accompanied by Venezuela’s Foreign Minister, Yván Gil; the Vice Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña; the Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza, among other authorities.
She also invited attendees from more than 100 countries to join Venezuela in the battle for peace. “I invite you to stand with Venezuela in its right to defend itself. Every Venezuelan marching today (Thursday) does so against fascism, for peace, with political clarity to defeat fascism in Venezuela.”
Rodríguez noted that this platform, which began in September with the Anti-Fascist Congress, must be extended and deepened in this era where fascism seeks to take over our planet. “There is no time to waste; we must fight united against fascism.”
She concluded by saluting the resistance of the people of Palestine and Argentina for facing “a fascist.”
Meanwhile, Vice Minister Rander Peña highlighted, “In the face of the hatred of the Venezuelan extreme right, President Nicolás Maduro has directed the organization of extensive activities to confront the fight against fascism, neo-fascism, and similar expressions.”
The World Anti-Fascist Festival will take place in Venezuela until January 11. Participants will also attend the swearing-in of Nicolás Maduro as the re-elected president of the nation before the National Assembly and the Venezuelan people.
