24th ALBA-TCP Summit: Antigua and Barbuda advocated strengthening tourism and agriculture in the region

Caracas, December 14, 2024 – Strengthening tourism among the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America–Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) was proposed this Saturday by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne.

During the 24th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance held in Venezuela, Browne emphasized the necessity of promoting tourism in the Caribbean and fostering exchanges in this sector to facilitate interaction among our peoples.

“At this moment, we need to deepen our integration ties to tackle economic challenges,” the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda stated.

He further reiterated his country’s condemnation of the measures and sanctions imposed by the United States against the peoples of Venezuela and Nicaragua. “We reiterate our condemnation of the sanctions against Venezuela, against Nicaragua, and the embargo on Cuba,” he affirmed.

Additionally, Browne declared that Antigua and Barbuda does not recognize any other president of Venezuela besides Nicolás Maduro. “We continue to support Venezuela and its elected president, Nicolás Maduro.”

“We condemn interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs. Venezuela has only one President, and that is Nicolás Maduro,” Browne insisted.
