Social Movements of ALBA internationalized the fight against fascism and defended the Bolivarian Revolution

Caracas, October 1, 2024 (Mincomunas Press). – During a conference organized by ALBA Movements against fascism and imperialism, Jorge Arreaza, Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), emphasized on Tuesday the importance of creating and safeguarding social organization alternatives, such as the Communal Councils and Communes in Venezuela.

“It is time for all the spokespersons of the Communal Councils to be legitimized, so we can advance toward the formation of the Communes and empower people to resolve their own issues through their own processes,” Arreaza stated at this event, aimed at internationalizing the struggles of Latin American and Caribbean countries and strengthening the Bolivarian Revolution.

The ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary warned that the coming years would be crucial in terms of economic definition. For this reason, all organizations capable of undertaking planting, harvesting, and agricultural experiments must do so, as Venezuela, unlike other regions, has the ideal climate and conditions for this agricultural process. Moreover, the country has the capacity to socialize this method and drive new international changes.

“We must remain vigilant and produce everything we can to prevent fascism from reaching Venezuela. We are at the forefront; we are the people and the territory with the best conditions to cultivate new ideas. If we fall into the hands of fascism, it would be a blow not only to Venezuela but to all of Latin America and the world,” he reaffirmed.

Empowering the people’s power from the neighborhoods

Representing the people’s organization Nativa Crea, Yeibert López highlighted that one of the key elements in the nation’s renewal is education rooted in the logic of class struggle. “If we prioritize those schools where we learned and united our strength, we can engage and connect with those young people who are not inherently fascists but fall prey to imperial propaganda.”

“We applaud today’s meeting. We are engaged in a constant fight against fascism in our territory. We have been working in the neighborhoods to deliver a message to the world. This is a context we need to analyze from our communities to strengthen grassroots organizations,” added Yonathan Piñate, from the organization Bájale Dos.

At the conference titled “Venezuela Chapter: Common Agenda for Socialism, Against Fascism and Imperialism,” Vice Minister of Social Movements Skarlen Mariño urged the development of proposals that will shape this agenda of struggle, helping to change the ways of action and enabling the re-foundation of political practices in the territories.

Finally, the Vice Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies, William Castillo, stressed that “with the People’s Power, we need to create a communication network (…) We must confront that monster (fascism) that is present, operating, and active.”
