Nicaragua stands in solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela against imperial attacks

New York, September 30, 2024 – Nicaragua’s Foreign Minister, Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker, represented his country at the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

During his speech, the Minister delivered Nicaragua’s official message, reaffirming the principles of sovereignty and peace that guide the country’s foreign policy.

He also called on the international community to intensify efforts in combating climate change, a priority on Nicaragua’s agenda.

Jaentschke urged major world powers to take responsibility in addressing global economic and social inequalities.

Furthermore, he expressed solidarity with countries that face daily struggles against imperialist aggression, such as Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, and China.

Last Thursday, Nicaragua’s Foreign Minister participated in the XXIV Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), where he emphasized the importance of the alliance in the face of aggression against sovereign nations and stood with countries resisting destabilization efforts.

He also greeted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and attended events organized by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the African Union, reaffirming Nicaragua’s commitment to international cooperation.
