Caracas, April 24, 2024.- During his speech at the 23rd Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), held this Wednesday at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, considered it is essential that the Alliance remains united, in that way the member countries will keep strong against attacks and interferences by foreign powers.
Taking into consideration the solidarity that identifies the regional bloc, Pierre said that the people of Haiti deserve the full support of ALBA-TCP. “Haiti deserves to exist”, added Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister.
“Saint Lucia is a small island which has a population of 185,000 people, but we have always taken a position of being friends of peace, and we believe that there should be no racism, no discrimination and that all men should be able to live in peace and dignity”, he mentioned.
Saint Lucia also condemned the interference in the region by the United States and other nations.
He mentioned that in his country’s parliament he made a forceful call to immediately remove the sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela.
“We have done so consistently at every session of the United Nations and we will continue to do so until the sanctions are removed and we want them to be removed in all countries”.
