Venezuela proposes meeting of ALBA agriculture ministers

The meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the member states of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) will be held to draw up joint strategies to guarantee food, said this Wednesday the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

From the Miraflores Palace, located in Caracas, he explained that the meeting will be conducive to expose the methodology of the Great AgroVenezuela Mission, made up of nine vertices, aimed at expanding productive capacities in order to achieve food sovereignty.

“I put the method of the Great AgroVenezuela Mission at the command of the peoples of ALBA”, he stressed.

This call will be in charge of the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, who must include “among the most urgent meetings in January, a meeting to discuss this method and to integrate the productive plans of ALBA to guarantee food to the peoples of ALBA”.

The dignitary highlighted that the relaunch of the Great AgroVenezuela Mission, which occurred last September, “has been a total success”, which is why he urged the corresponding authorities to “permanently review it, listen to farmers and producers, seek opinions and listen to criticism and alerts” to consolidate the national agribusiness.
